Java is way easier to learn than C, but its got its own problems. C++ is, in my opinion, better than both. I’m a Java developer now, but feel free to ask me for advice if you are stuck on a programming problem, as I’m familiar with most of the major languages (including C, C++, and scripting languages like Python). You’re out of luck if you need help with LISP though. :)

Criminals will still get guns, psychopaths will still kill people. It could be a gun, it could be a baseball bat, it could be a crow bar. It could be a mini-van. It could be a sharpened stick. It could be a grenade. It could be an improvised grenade. You are naive if you think you or any law can do anything about that. Welcome to human nature. If anything, guns in the hands of trustworthy folks (not just criminals, as strict gun control would cause) is better for stopping this kind of thing.
